Hi, my name's Kristy. I'm a social media strategist & owner of ohksocialmedia, freelance writer and culinary genius. More or less.

I write for a variety of publications including Swallow, Relish, Edible Vancouver, A Hot Mess and Urban Diner.ca, eat everything – though I have a particular penchant for Spanish and Italian cuisine – and drink more than my fair share of vino. I also maintain this blog.

 

 

Gastronomical Sovereignty is about my adventures with food and the ethical dilemmas of eating in a way that does the least amount of damage to the planet, the animals and each other. 

I believe in eating organically local, regionally in season and when it comes to meat and dairy, pastured. CSAs are brilliant and second only to growing our own food. We should all have chickens and tomato plants. We should all live smaller and love better.

When I’m not dreaming food, preparing food, eating food, or writing food, I like being in nature, camping, reading good novels, bourbon, and pigs. Not all at the same time. But maybe so, too.
