Happy Wednesday Fresh Foods Link up my darlings!
What a week! It's been very busy with work, more getting settled things (I really should just sit down and take care of everything - but I'd rather be talking to you), figuring out where to get my booze from, and exciting writing stuff!
Yes! Exciting writing stuff! Two great things have happened recently. The first is my recipe for Punkin Doughnuts was featured at April's blog, The 21st Century Housewife. If you haven't met April, you need to. She also co-hosts 2 spectacular linky parties each week that I think you'd really enjoy.

The second thing is that the TasteBud Guides e-book poutine guide, A Hot Mess, has been published. Yours truly is a contributor - check out the article on Spinnaker's. My photo may have (or may not have - but definitely did) ended up on the cover as well. Upon release the guide was the #1 free book for travel in Canada on Amazon and the #2 free book in the Travel & Adventure section on iTunes - beat out only by Lonely Planet's "Hawaii or Caribbean?". Holla bitches! If you love poutine and/or Victoria - you'll wanna check out our stellar guide.
Linky party time! Last week we hit 47 shares! You guys are so awesome. Let's keep it rockin'! Of course I suck at finding features....something just has to be done about this. Solution - on its way. Balls.
This link-up is to encourage fresh food production, consumption,
activism, and awareness.
Please feel free to link up posts containing:
- CSA collections;
- Farmer's market treasures;
- Home grown/raised hauls;
- Recipes that feature fresh fruits and veggies that are seasonal to your area or feature local, sustainably farmed meats, eggs, and dairy;
- DIY projects and tutorials for: gardening, storing and/or preserving fresh, real foods, composting market scraps, raising chickens in your back yard, etc;
- Tips for local eating such as: tips for CSA members, how to find out what’s in season, how to make the most of your local produce, how to raise chickens, etc...
You may link up to 3 posts in a given week that you haven't shared here before by using the linky tool at the bottom of this post. Feel free to click on any of the linked up posts and say hello by leaving a comment for your fellow fresh food communitarians and/or leave one here to tell us what you've shared - because we know how much we all love comments!
If you don't have a blog but would still like to contribute to the link up, throw me an email and we'll work something out.
And lastly, please include a simple text link back to this
blog hop (the post, not the blog's main page) in the post(s) you link up or add a button:

I want this blog hop to feature you as well as help each other
come together to form a resource of good food ways for one another.
In order to be featured on the weekly highlights - which includes a
highlight on your post here the following week as well as tweets, facebook page "like" and posting, and being added to the Fresh Foods pinterest board - you
must have a text
link back or button displayed in your post or on your blog. If you don’t link
back to this post I can’t feature you.
Don't forget that you can become my friend via GFC by joining this site on the right side bar, and/or find me on twitter, facebook, Pinterest, and my sister site, Taste Buds.
If you have any questions about the blog hop in general, please email me via freshfoodsbloghop (at) gmail (dot) com.

Coolness on the publishing of the Tastebud Guide! This week I'm sharing my recipe for Saag Paneer, an easy to make Indian dish. (You can also find out how to make the paneer on my blog as well.) Thanks for hosting!

I love April too.. she leads such an interesting life. So glad for your successes... and thank you for hosting the party.
ReplyDeleteKristy, this week I posted three recipes.
ReplyDeleteEnd of season Roasted Red pepper Pesto, 15 Soups and Stews Recipes, and 10 reasons why I will continue to eat my arsenic rice. ;)
I'm kind of all over the place this week, but I managed to give you one link, Oozy Mushroom Risotto and Homemade Lemon Curd. Congratulations on being published!
ReplyDeleteAh, poutine! My son asked for that for his special 14th birthday appetizer! I didn't realize at the time that I should have made it be dinner, since what with his special 14th birthday breakfast, special 14th birthday lunch, special 14th birthday dinner, and birthday cake it was a very calorie-rich day. Funny thing is, he's never been in Canada. I can only assume it's coming to him through the hockey pads? Congrats on your work being recognized!
ReplyDeleteThis is my second week linking and I don't know what to do on my blog-advice? Thanks!
Congratulations on your accomplishments! Thanks for hosting, it takes me forever to write my posts so, one new one to share: Local, Sustainable Meat for the Future.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristy! I found your link party at Miz Helen's this morning. Those pumpkin doughnuts look mighty dangerous. ;) I linked up my newest post, "A New England Breakfast", where I share a scrumptiously healthy autumn breakfast and talk about how traveling changes your perspective of life! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun to be back with something to share: Gleaning apples and cider pressing! I love getting new inspiration from this link party:) Thanks again, Kristy-Lynn for hosting.
