I know what you're thinking. What does a feast of a field have anything to do with wine? Well, a lot, let me tell you!
Feast of Fields is an event put on by Farm Folk/City Folk, an organization working towards community based sustainable food systems. It takes place through out British Columbia and is essentially a four hour gourmet wandering harvest festival that can be thought of (as I quote their website) as a 40 course meal paired with wine and beer! Ummmm.... really? YES! Really!

There are too many vendors to list here but if you want to see everyone who is participating (including their menus) - click here. However, for the purposes of this post, there are at least 12 different B.C. wineries you get to sample, and tons of local food and beer.

Locally, it's being hosted at Marley Farm in Saanichton on Sunday, September 18th from 1 - 5pm. Tickets are a whopping $85.00 (let's hope they don't run out of food and wine as it happened both here and here). And don't worry about getting to and from the event, there are shuttle buses leaving from Mayfair Mall starting at 12:15pm at a rate of $15.00 return.
NOW: who wants to wine and dine in the middle of a field with me?

It sounds AMAZING! Alas, I am soon to be an impoverished student......
ReplyDeleteSee you there. It's my favorite foodie event of the year! Totally worth the $85. 4 hours gives you more than enough time to stuff your face with delicious food and wine :)
ReplyDeleteI entered a contest yesterday to win two tickets, fingers crossed I win!!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived a little more (well... a lot more) north, I'd be happy to join ya! Sounds like such a fun event!
ReplyDeleteI'll see you there too! If they run out of food it's only because we can't help ourselves - it's just that good.
ReplyDeleteI would be there in a flash (if I could) sounds like Foodie heaven to me. I have just discovered you for Peggy's site.
